A background in fashion and textile print design informs the work of Gillian Loop. She utilizes various printed elements derived from any manner of printed material; labels, packaging, magazines, etc.

Color variants, patterns and imagery are used to create artwork which is typically irreverent but sometimes earnest however this work always offers a dual perspective; one detailed and another which from a distance reveals a more generalized image or theme.
